Technically I could sneak Israfel back into the Wake... again, just to spite my perma-ban, but I'd have to hide everything and wouldn't be able to reveal her to her old friends.

That game is boring enough as it is.

Team Flare: Only Team Flare's happiness matters!

Lysandre: I want to create a new world... and you can help me!

Team Flare: Only Team Flare will survive!

Me: *singsong* I can see where this is going~ *deadpan* Because I've been there before. And the last "new world" was cooler than yours. B|

.... I'll just take the legendary pokemon instead. Everyone keeps calling it Xemnas by accident anyway.

The valley green was so serene
In the middle ran a stream so blue
A maiden fair, in despair,
once had met her true love there and she told him
She would say...
"Promise me, when you see, a white rose you'll think of me
I love you so,
Never let go,
I will be your ghost of a rose."

Her eyes believed in mysteries
She would lay amongst the leaves of amber
Her spirit wild, heart of a child,
yet gentle still and quiet and mild and he loved her
When she would say
"Promise me, when you see, a white rose you'll think of me
I love you so,
Never let go,
I will be your ghost of a rose."

When all was done, she turned to run
Dancing to the setting sun as he watched her
And ever more he thought he saw
A glimpse of her upon the moors forever
He'd hear her say...
"Promise me , when you see, a white rose you'll think of me
I love you so,
Never let go,
I will be your ghost of a rose."

I just recreated the Sunset Waltz with horses.

I regret nothing.

Well no, that's a lie...

I regret filming this at night instead of at sunset.

It was actually Athena's idea, is the thing. She had no clue how useful it would be to me, especially since she had out that platinum blond horse with his mane tied back.

Writing up Isra's future Ascension to Deva and pondering for far too long why music from Labyrinth was stuck in my head....

Hint: It's because the way you become a Deva is by walking through a realm of chaos and darkness called the Labyrinth.
And I'd already been thinking hard about how I was going to describe it.

Israfel:
Am I to understand that I am not invited over for breakfast, then?

Xemnas:
Invitations are given at opportune moments. I, however, only offer those when it becomes convenient. And currently it is neither opportune nor convenient.

Israfel:
[She laughs.]
Of course. Do forgive me. I've been told I'm a terrible flirt.

Xemnas:
Is that so?
[Because...it quite possibly went over his head.]
Their opinions about you shouldn't matter. And there is no fault in the way you act.

Israfel:
[This is the smile of a cat who has gotten into the cream.]
I like how you're defending me. I don't need it, but it's very sweet.
So is that a yes on breakfast?

Xemnas:
[Wait. That wasn't suppose to happen.
Maybe he was losing his touch.]
...
If you insist, then you should make sure you come on time.

Israfel:
Excellent! I'll bring tea.
fallingdream: (Cat)
My predecessor said that she felt "under-appreciated..."

I can put it into a few more words.

You've worked in childcare for thirty-seven years.
Did you forget somewhere along the way that positive reinforcement works on adults too?

I'm coming into work every day hoping for silence because I know that if you address me, especially within those first fifteen minutes, it will be to criticize me.

If I know I've made a mistake, I'm coming into work a reluctant ball of nerves, buoyed only by my affection for the children and the rest of the staff, still half-wishing I had a reasonable excuse to call in.

It doesn't help if I bring up my own mistake first, to apologize, because you'll question and lecture me either way. Almost better not to mention it, in the hope that you'll forget, or that you didn't notice.
Almost better to make up excuses, pray you don't fact-check them, and quietly meditate on not screwing up the same way next time.

Do you never make the connection, when you're wondering why, that I am still the same species as those children which you so expertly teach?

Is it possible that the problems persist, in part, because I am not being told what I'm doing right?

Nostalgia

But here is the truth of nostalgia: we don’t feel it for who we were, but who we weren’t. We feel it for all the possibilities that were open to us, but that we didn’t take.

Time is like wax dripping from a candle flame. In the moment it is molten and falling, with the capability to transform into any shape. Then the moment passes and the wax hits the table top and solidifies into the shape it will always be. It becomes the past. A solid, single record of what happened, still holding in its wild curves and contours the potential of every shape it could have held.

It is impossible — no matter how blessed you are by luck, or the government, or some remote invisible deity gently steering your life with hands made of moonlight and wind — it is impossible not to feel a little sad looking at that bit of wax. That bit of the past. It is impossible not to think of all the wild forms that wax now will never take.

Athena Silverborn:
Are you fuckin' serious right now?
Snorting CONDOMS?
NOT COCAINE. NOT SMARTIES.
CONDOMS.
Holy fuck, just kill yourselves, I am sSORRY, there is no hope for you kids, real talk.
Why Are Kids Snorting Condoms??

Sirifel Greenhaven:
Because that makes all the sense in the world.

Athena Silverborn:
Siri... Do something. D:

Sirifel Greenhaven:
Okay. Here's what we do, Athena.
Find yourself a keyblade. Learn how to use it. Kill a bunch of Heartless for me. When my Kingdom Hearts is complete, I'll create our new world.
This world will be composed of pure thought. That means the only true powers will be intelligence, creativity, and willpower. We'll shape ourselves and the world around us out of dream stuff and conviction.
Sound good?

Athena Silverborn:
Siri, that was beautiful. o.o;

Sirifel Greenhaven:
I can't claim credit for the plan. I only adopted it from a dear friend.

Athena Silverborn:
Well it was genius, either way, I say we do it.

Sirifel Greenhaven:
Right. Get on it, then.

It amuses me terribly when Israfel gets to act like her old self.

Oh look, he's sleeping. Surely he won't mind if I just... pop in for a visit.

It's been a year and seven months. I'm about ready to give up on all this secrecy and see how much of her history I can describe without directly saying "oh hey, and she's a self-insert fandom OC..."

It doesn't break the game if nobody knows. >_>

This is the one stuck in my head now.
I haven't decided if it's for Song or for Phedre. A little of both.

what a mary sue is: a poorly written character whose talents, features and abilities are implausible and beyond the limits of a canon universe compared to that of the other characters
what a mary sue is not: a female character you happen to dislike

Listening to Unchained Melody

picturing Isra and Orphy

once they've mostly gotten over being all awkward and distant

just

touching each other's faces

all gentle and romantic and such

to relearn each other's features

like they start off dancing

and then get distracted

don't mind me while I asphyxiate in my own sap

or possibly write a drabble

I need to do a continuation of that last one anyway

because of the awkward and distant

that sentence is perfectly correct what are you talking about

I haven't disappeared, I've just been in another world for a bit.

It's called Jorvik.

It's kind of like Azeroth, except... well...

Here, I made videos.

Electric Jorvik

Endless Roads

Rainbow Fools (the April Fools' special)

And Stargazer says hi.

No really, he does. He talks a lot.

So I was reading old Final Mix logs a couple days ago. I paused to check facebook, and found that Amy had messaged me about how Eli officially had a baby sister now.

I thought damn, I miss this already. You know, there's really no reason why Amy and I can't keep doing random WR logs together. In fact, I could make a community for this purpose, so she and I would both be able to make posts.

Then, if anyone else felt like joining in, they could.

I mean, it's not something that would move fast, and it wouldn't always have epic, dire plot going on.

"Slice of life" is fun too, given what life is like for the Refugees.

Not that there won't be an epic plot here or there.

In fact, I think I've got one in mind...

You know you live with an alcoholic when:

You bring home a couple bottles of Welch’s sparkling grape juice to save for New Years.
They’ve mysteriously vanished from the kitchen table two minutes later.

She didn’t even stop to glance at the label.
Or, you know, ask.

Oh
KotOR.
I just noticed the parallels that probably explain why I like you so much.

. Former Dark Lord with amnesia, set on redemption.
. Romantic Interest determined to save him. Angsty fluff abounds.
. Amnesiac Dark Lord leaves Romantic Interest behind to go fix the problems of his past.
. Amnesiac Dark Lord returns 300 years later (no actual reunion in the KotOR games, but it is funny that Song Wakes and presumably finds Orpheus 320-something years after he left.)
. Twilight_Sith. This is the best part.
